DAY 490... The End of an Exhausting Week

Most of us are busy. Between work life, home life, your personal life, your spiritual life, and everything in between, there's just not enough hours in the day to fit everything in and still have time for yourself!
This week was a CRAZY one for me. Yesterday was suppose to be our first cheer competition of the season, but due to injury and illness, the other coach and I made the tough decision (seriously probably one of the hardest decisions of my coaching career if not the hardest) to not go. But preparation for this competition throughout the week was INTENSE!!! I have a hard time with people who think that cheerleading isn't a sport or that it's not tough. It is HARD!!! It is hard on your body (my knees are still not recovered), it's hard on your mind, and it's very time consuming. Competition is the only time that these girls get to do something for themselves. During the sports seasons they get the opportunity to cheer their school on and to be there for the players and crowd, but competition is all for them. The opportunity to show off their hard work to everyone... to win something for themselves, not to help bring the win for someone else. Practice leading up to competition is draining! By Friday night, when the girls put on a mini-performance for their friends and family, the girls were exhausted from head to toe... And they still rocked that performance!!! On top of a grueling week of practice, they had 2 games to cheer at, which meant I went to 4 games (both JV and Varsity). I was lucky enough to be able to bring little Ani Kate with me, she has an intense love for pom poms and basketballs, plus she just loves the cheerleaders and their Moms!!!
Once again, this goes back to her love of anyone who gives her attention. I am so happy that Aniston has such good role models in her life. It really melts my heart when they give her so much attention and constantly compliment her. They are such a hard working group of girls!!! I cannot wait to watch them kill at competition... Trust me, you are gonna love their routines!!!!

I didn't post at all this past week, because on top of my cheer schedule, my work schedule was pretty hectic! Between the phantom pooer (I don't think that's a word... but it's a great story), my little klepto, and a new session of the program starting, I was busy busy busy. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with my family at home. Since it was a little too cold to go out.
I'm also starting to get worried about her being around so many people with this nasty flu going around. It breaks my heart when she's sick. We did get to go to her 6 months appointment (can you believe that?!?!?) this past week and she didn't even grow 1/2 an inch, but she did gain 3 pounds. That's my chubby bunny! She is now eating 3 meals a day and 2 snacks on top of bottles. Feeding a baby is so time consuming!!!! For breakfast she eats oatmeal with fruit, then she has a snack of juice, for lunch she has a fruit (she loves applesauce and bananas) then she has more juice, and for dinner she gets a vegetable (carrots are treating her good now). She LOVES to eat!!! She also has like 4 or 5 bottles a day still. She tends to watch people eat in a pretty creepy manner...
She is also trying to become mobile, but hasn't quite figured it out yet.

Pretty hilarious if you ask me. Then again, I am her Mom and everything she does is pretty much hilarious!!!

This week my little brother Jason found out he has a hole in his heart and that instead of the normal number of valves in a human heart, he only has two. That has been pretty draining emotionally to deal with. I know I'm not the best sister ever, but when one of your siblings has a medical problem like this it's just scary. But he's going to be okay!!! Those of you who know him, know that he's a fighter!!! He can get through anything!!! I only dream of being as strong as he is.
PS - It's kind of cool that I coach at the same High School that he graduated from right???

Basically my life is insane! But I feel blessed to be surrounded by employees, cheerleaders, and family who support me. It's just a huge blessing. I love my life!!! It's just crazy busy... but it's good because it forces me to manage my time wisely and spend my time doing what really matters. As much as I love to blog and write, my family simply comes first.

I hope that you all have had an AMAZING week! Make sure that you're spending your time where it matters. Help others, serve others, and make sure that you tell them that you love them!!!

DAY 482... 6 Months Old Already!!!

It feels like yesterday that my home healthcare nurse was giving me my IV's almost daily, I was constantly throwing up every day at the exact same time every day, and that my baby would kick me so hard from the inside that it would bruise my stomach on the outside. Good times! But 6 months ago today, all of that changed. I was blessed to give birth to a beautiful and healthy and perfect baby girl, who is staring at me from her pink chair at this moment in super creeper fashion, and all of those pains and sufferings that it took to get her into this world didn't matter!

I cannot believe that my little girl is already 6 months old!!! Time seriously needs to slow down. I had always heard that babies grow up fast, but I didn't really ever believe it since time seems to go by so slowly. But these people did not lie. This has been the fastest 6 months of my life! And even though it has definitely not been the easiest 6 months of my life (probably actually the hardest 6 months ever), it has been the most rewarding and simply the BEST 6 months EVER!!!
Aniston is really turning into the sassiest baby ever! Of course she's super adorable... by the number of people who stop us to stare at her on a daily basis, I know this is true, but she's more than that. She is ridiculously smart, funny, and just perfect! Okay she's not perfect, but she seems that way all too often.

Ani Kate LOVES food. She probably gets this from both Spencer and I because we LOVE food. It worries me a little because she will stare at us, without blinking, while we eat our food with her mouth open. She can't get enough of her own food either bottle or her solids!!! I'm figuring that somewhere down the line I am going to have to make some food boundaries to avoid body image issues. But that's a ways off. For now I am proud of her love and desire to eat! She is truly my child. She also knows the sign for milk already. She can't do the sign but she calms down when I do it because she knows it's coming.... Smart girl!
Ani also loves strangers! Actually she loves anyone who will give her any attention at all. This is also another worry that I have and something that we will have to work to change before she starts dating. She does now recognize that she is being held by someone else other than Mom and Dad, but as long as she can see one of us she is fine. If she can't see us then out comes that lower lip. Is it bad that I think she is incredibly cute when she starts to cry????

Aniston sleeps from about 9pm-7 or 8am solid. She is an AMAZING sleeper and I love it! Of course I get up at least once to make sure she's still breathing, but it's nice that she is respectful of night time.
Ani Kate is starting to push herself up almost to her knees when she's on her belly, she's feeding herself from a bottle, and she has learned that by rolling, she can move from here to there.
She LOVES music, anything from the ABC's to Les Miserables (of course), she LOVES books, and she loves baths She might love baths because of her 3 best friends! From left to right we have Dorota, Dante, and Darrell. She loves them!!!! BFF's forever!
Aniston also loves her Dad!!! I may or may not be a little jealous of this, but she will always smile for him no matter what! I don't have those same privileges. Seriously, any picture you see where she is smiling, it's because Spencer is making her smile.

She's also a crafty little girl... When she knows we aren't paying attention to her she will fake cough and then look over at us to see if we looked at her. When she does it from her crib, I may or may not yell "FAKER" then go back to whatever it was that I was doing. Bad parenting?????

Spencer and I still look at her and we can't believe that we made her! Children are proof that we are capable of doing great things! I'm so thankful for Aniston Kate and the blessings and love that she has brought into our home for the past 6 months. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her and my AWESOME husband!
HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY ANISTON KATE AHLSTROM!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

DAY 477... Goodbye 2012

It's safe to say that 2012 has been the BEST year of my life!!! It has also been the worst.... Funny how life balances out like that. So are you ready for all the pictures that you've already seen before, but that I'm going to remind you of???? Here we go.... (anything highlighted in RED will link you to a blog post of that awesome memory!!!)

I started off 2012 pregnant and sick.... This continued throughout the first half of the year.... I got bigger..
and bigger... (Remember how we chaperoned the Sweetheart's dance at CHHS and we were awesome????)
 and bigger...
 and bigger...
 and bigger...
 and bigger...
and HUGE???
Just realized this.....

Same clothes!!! Haha! The one on the left is like 12 weeks pregnant and the one on the right is about 37 weeks. Saying weeks instead of months when you're pregnant is way cooler in case you didn't know.

Throughout the pregnancy I got sick...
 and sicker....
I spent half of my year sick, and about 1/4 of my year hooked up to an IV!!! That's right... I had hyperemesis before Kate Middleton made it cool.

We learned that we were having a girl and we were so excited!!!

During this time (sick and all) I was coaching cheerleading at Copper Hills High school,
We ended up going to nationals and placing 5th overall in our division! It was a great year coaching!!!

Remember how I was 6 months pregnant at Nationals and I really should have used the scooters????

We also moved to Rexburg and Spencer finished his first 2 semesters at BYU-Idaho! (No pictures here.... but you get a link!!!)

Meanwhile I got 2 news jobs. One as the After School coordinator for South Fork Elementary school,
And the other coaching cheerleading at Madison High School...

On July 3rd, I was chased by a Moose... at 38 weeks pregnant...
Then on THE BEST DAY EVER, July 5th 2012, Aniston Kate Ahlstrom was welcomed into our family!

We think she's (mostly) PERFECT!!!!

In September Ani Kate was blessed in Utah and we celebrated 1 year of marriage!!!

Picture on the left... Wedding Day. Picture on the right... One year married. Sooooooooo CUTE!!!

While in Utah Aniston got to meet both sets of her Grandparents!!!

Aniston and Spencer went to Yellowstone for the first time...

Aniston celebrated her first Halloween as a little pea pod.... SO CUTE!!!

We survived the end of the world and ate Taco Bell to celebrate...
Aniston celebrated her first Christmas and LOVED Santa!!!
And I FINALLY got to see Les Miserables!!!
What an AWESOME year for this Ahlstrom clan! I have never been so excited for a new year to start to see where it will take me and my little family!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
