Spencer and I are cheap people. It is what is it and it works out perfectly for our marriage. Of course, we are on a budget since Spencer is still in school and that can be quite the money suck. A few days ago, someone posted a super cute desk on a Facebook Garage Sale site. There was no price listed, so I was hopefully that it would be inexpensive and that it would be perfect for a spot in our living room that we need to fill. It wasn't anything special and looked slightly cheap. The seller came back with a price of $125. Yeah, no. A few minutes later I saw a desk posted for $5. I showed it to Spencer and we agreed that we could do some work on it and make it work for sure. When he went to pick it up, the seller offered to throw in a lovely 70's chair for free because no one wanted to buy it. He took it. Smart man.
He brought the furniture home and we got to work. It was the perfect way to spend our time, especially during the tornado warning, that knocked out our internet, right when were getting started. Oh Rexburg... Your weather never fails to surprise.
We are thrilled with how it turned out!
Seriously, you can't beat $5. I have had this frame since I was like 15, so I removed all my high school memories from it and I just printed out quotes and filled them into the frame. The quotes are darling and can be found here.
Who doesn't love a good before and after picture?
We didn't sand anything and we used oil based paint.
We also had some super cute not so helpful little helpers!
Such a fun little project! We have quite a few others that we want to tackle this summer, so hopefully we can make the time to get those done!
Fanstastic! You can't beat $5!
